Our Mission Statement

Ableism is a set of practices and beliefs that assign inferior value (worth) to people who have developmental, emotional, physical or psychiatric disabilities.
- To initiate, improve, and promote equal access for people with physical disabilities to services, transportation, buildings, businesses, stores, and services in Guelph by suggesting to operators of such enterprises to install a wheelchair accessible door into their establishments.
- To cultivate the treatment of people with physical disabilities with the same respect and consideration that able-bodied people seem to receive in Guelph’s society.
- To remove attitudinal and systemic barriers that persons with physical disabilities must handle on a daily basis by educating and talking with able-bodied people where we meet them in the daily pursuit of our lives.
